Supporting Dyslexia and SpLDs: Awareness and Study Strategies
This Microcourse provides a clear and practical introduction to supporting neurodiverse learners, with a focus on dyslexia, ADHD and attention challenges. Designed for teachers and school leaders, it explores how differences in cognitive processing, working memory and attention shape the learning experience, and why understanding how students learn is as important as what they learn. It highlights both the strengths and challenges of neurodiversity, alongside key classroom strategies including dyslexia-friendly approaches, the “big picture” method, retrieval practice, and the use of assistive technology and AI, all grounded in real classroom application and actionable teaching practice.
